God never wastes anything. The Bible says you are “wonderfully complex.” You are a combination of many different factors. By identifying and understanding these factors you can discover God’s will for your life. To help you remember five of these factors, here is a simple acrostic: S.H.A.P.E.

Spiritual Gifts | Heart | Abilities | Personality | Experience

Take a few moments to consider the answers to these questions. This may help sharpen your understanding of how God has wired you and what you might be called to do in His Kingdom.

S – Spiritual Gifts | What has God supernaturally gifted me to do?

• Where do I feel most alive?

• What gifts do I identify with the most in these Scriptures: Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, 28-30; Ephesians 4:11; and 1 Peter 4:9-11

H – Heart | What do I have passion for and love to do?

• What drives you?

• Who are the people you most want to help?

• What are the needs I feel most drawn to?

• What cause am I most passionate about?

A – Abilities | What natural talents and skills do I have?

• Where do I find it easier to excel in?

• What do I find myself doing with my free time?

P – Personality | Where does my personality best suit me to serve?

• Introverted vs. Extraverted

• Controlled vs. Spontaneous

• Intuitive vs. Sensing

• Thinking vs. Feeling

E – Experiences | How have these different experiences and how they have impacted  your life:

• What spiritual experiences have I had?

• What painful experiences have I had?

• What educational experiences have I had?

• What ministry experiences have I had?
